The Colonies Zone LCM Championship was held in College Park, MD on Aug 21-22. There were 38 swimmers from our LMSC entered, representing 4 different clubs: QMST (1), SHYM (1), UNAT (2), VMST (30), WAVA (4). The unofficial results have been uploaded. Highlights include:

• Three relays set new world records! The team of Johnnie Detrick, Laura Walker, Beth Schreiner and Betsy Durrant set records in both 400 and 800 free relays in the 280-319 age group. And Betsy and Laura were joined by Judy Martin and Shirley Loftus-Charley to set a new world standard in the 400 medley relay for the 240-279 age group. Impressive job, ladies!
• There were plenty of other records, including 25 new LMSC records (19 individual, 6 relay). Shirley Loftus-Charley was a model of efficiency: while entered in only two events (1500 free and 400 medley relay), she managed to set 1 new world record and 5 new LMSC records! On the men’s side, Calvin Barnes continues to impress with 5 new LMSC records under his belt (4 individual, 1 relay).
• VMST dominated the team scoring, winning the men, women and combined team scores while scoring almost 3 times as many points as its nearest competitor. Congratulations to all who participated.
