Open Water

Article for New Open Water Swimmers

Open water season is upon us! Considering your first open water swim (or maybe your first one in a looong time)? It can be a little intimidating to transition from the pool to the open water. Where are the walls? Or that comforting black line? LMSC member Laura Jones, a staff writer for USMS and wife of open water phenom Rob Jones, has written a great article about how she overcame her nerves and participated in the Great Chesapeake Bay Swim, a daunting 4.4-mi swim.

If she can do it, so can you! Laura and Rob reside in Charlottesville and are regulars at the annual Chris Greene Lake Cable Swim.
