Swimming World’s The Morning Swim Show recently featured video interviews with two successful masters swimmers: Leslie Livingston and Allen Stark. Both recently set world records at long-course nationals in Auburn, but in very different events: 50 backstroke and 200 breaststroke.

In her interview, Leslie shares some of her secrets in preparing for sprints, in particular her emphasis on underwater dolphin kicking. You can follow Leslie’s preparation in great detail on her popular blog.

In his interview, Allen, a psychiatrist, elaborates on the mental aspects of swimming and racing. He talks more about this in a thread on the USMS forums.
