University of Richmond Fall Swim Clinics

If you are in the Richmond area, you might be interested in the weekly swim clinics that will be held every Sunday at 5pm between Sept 11 and Nov 27. Taught by the University of Richmond women’s swimming coaching staff, who guided the Spiders to 9 of the last 10 A-10 Conference Championships and multiple NCAA qualifying berths, the clinics are geared towards the improvement of the four competitive swim strokes, starts and turns.

You can reserve your spot by emailing head coach Matt Barany; see the information sheet for details.

  1. Hi, What are the basic requirements? I can swim about 1 lap without stopping. I taught myself how to swim so my strokes are not perfect, but I’ve always wanted a coach.

    • You should check with coach Barany, but I believe that they would like better command of the strokes than that. You could also check with local masters practice groups or the YMCA for coached workouts. UR also has one of these that you sign up for as a course, and it is taught by the assistant coach.
