Breaststroke Recovery


Elite swimmers probably exhibit more variability in their mechanics in breaststroke than in any other stroke, so it can be difficult to know how to maximize speed and efficiency.

An article recently posted on the Swimming Science website compares the relative merits of three different types of breaststroke recovery methods and concludes that the underwater recovery — as opposed to partially or wholly over the top of the water — is the best.
