The entry deadline (July 8) for the Chris Greene Lake cable swims is approaching! A CGL cable swim is an excellent open water swim for beginner and expert alike:
- Beginners can do a 1-mile or 2-mile OW swim in a fairly gentle environment. Starting waves have only 10 swimmers and jostling is at a minimum. Course navigation is easy: just keep the cable to your left or right and you’re good to go!
- Experienced OW swimmers benefit from a cable swim because the course is measured and there are no currents, so you can get excellent feedback on your current OW conditioning. You can also set course records or even national records for your age group! Challenge yourself and enter both races; you certainly won’t be the only one doing so.
This is a family-friendly event, so bring the kids: the lake has a beach with lifeguards just a short distance from the race start.
