Sixty-three swimmers from our LMSC participated in the Long Course National Championship meet that was held Aug 13-17 in College Park, MD. Our swimmers did great! We have photos too.

Lake Moomaw 1-mi Race Results

USMS swimming phenom Shirley Loftus-Charley, 62, of Afton, Virginia claimed the overall title and set a new course record in the 2nd annual 1-mile open water swim at Lake Moomaw in Alleghany County, Virginia. Complete results are available with photos to follow.

Coach Certification Scholarship

USMS is holding a Level 1 & 2 coach certification course in McLean on Friday, September 5. To encourage certification and help defray the cost for our members, the Virginia LMSC is offering scholarships to attend the course.

On a gorgeous day for open water swimming, 140 athletes gathered on July 12 to participate in one or more cable swims at Chris Greene Lake in Charlottesville, VA. The complete (unofficial) results have been uploaded to the website.
