As we transition to open water season, it is nice to see one of our staple OW events, the Chris Green Lake Cable Swim, get some recognition!
Spring is just around the corner, and that means people are starting to think about open water swimming again! The Mar-Apr issue of SWIMMER Magazine is the annual issue devoted to the discipline of OW swimming.
The entry deadline (July 8) for the Chris Greene Lake cable swims is approaching! A CGL cable swim is an excellent open water swim for beginner and expert alike.
USMS recently compiled a list of 10 great OW swims, and we were pleased that they included our very own Chris Greene Lake cable swims among them. This year’s event has been scheduled for July 13, so circle that date on your calendar now!
For the second straight year, swimming phenom Shirley Loftus-Charley set two open water national records. This year’s achivement caps 31 consecutive years (and counting!) of competing at Chris Greene Lake.
On July 14, 125 swimmers participated in the 36th Annual Chris Greene Lake open water cable swims, and the results have been uploaded to our website. Director Dave Holland has written a press release describing this year’s race.
