The 2013 Colonies Zone Long Course Championship is set to begin this Saturday! There are 156 entrants and we are excited to host you this weekend. We have some important announcements.
The 26th Annual Jim McDonnell Lake swims were held May 26 in Lake Audubon; despite the relatively chilly (mid-60s) water there were 467 swimmers, 41 of them from our LMSC.
Results from the 2013 USMS Spring National Championship are now available! Nationals were held May 9-12 at Indianapolis, and 23 of our members made the trip. They did great!
Every year a strong contingent of swimmers from the Northern Neck YMCA travels down to Florida for some fast swimming, and this year was no exception, as 13 LMSC members participated in YMCA Masters Nationals.

USMS recently compiled a list of 10 great OW swims, and we were pleased that they included our very own Chris Greene Lake cable swims among them. This year’s event has been scheduled for July 13, so circle that date on your calendar now!

Results for the 3000/6000 Postal National Championships have been finalized. There were 19 swimmers from our LMSC who participated in at least one of the postal events, including four stalwarts who did both events.
Normal masters meets are usually social, fun, fast affairs. But one of the most exciting forms of swim meets are college dual meets, and 70 LMSC members decided to try to recreate that format in a masters setting. So the first annual (masters) Duel in the Pool was born!
RCA Masters is hosting their annual meet, Dive Into Spring, on March 24 in Lexington, VA.
Results are now available for the SCM Relay and Sprint Festival that was held Nov 18 at George Mason University.
