The Jim McDonnell Lake 1-mi and 2-mi races were held this past weekend, on May 24 at Lake Reston; the results have been posted. This is a large annual event that attracts many LMSC members; this year’s contingent of 42 swimmers acquitted themselves very well.
The Colonies Zone Smackdown SCM Championship was held recently in Manassas, VA: unofficial results have been posted to our website, as well as some photos.
Sixty-three swimmers from our LMSC participated in the Long Course National Championship meet that was held Aug 13-17 in College Park, MD. Our swimmers did great! We have photos too.
USMS swimming phenom Shirley Loftus-Charley, 62, of Afton, Virginia claimed the overall title and set a new course record in the 2nd annual 1-mile open water swim at Lake Moomaw in Alleghany County, Virginia. Complete results are available with photos to follow.
On a gorgeous day for open water swimming, 140 athletes gathered on July 12 to participate in one or more cable swims at Chris Greene Lake in Charlottesville, VA. The complete (unofficial) results have been uploaded to the website.
Six swimmers from our LMSC participated in the 2014 USMS Spring National Championship, held last weekend (May 1-4) in the historic George F. Haines International Swim Center in Santa Clara, CA.
The Colonies Zone SCY Championships were held Apr 4-6 in Fairfax, VA. Our LMSC was ably represented by 55 swimmers from 5 clubs (BAM1, QMST, SUNF, VMST and WAVA). Results have been added to our website.
