Although September is often a slow time for meets and OW races, there are still quite a few upcoming events that are within our LMSC (or within driving distance).
Most USMS members will not participate in a pool meet or open water race this year, but there are still a number of non-competitive Fitness Events that can help motivate you. The two most prominent are the Check Off Challenge and the Go The Distance events.

A handful of swimmers are representing our LMSC in some far-flung locations, at the 14th FINA World Masters Championships (Riccione, Italy) and the USMS Summer National Championship (Omaha, NE, at the Olympic Trials pool).
Summer means long course season! There are two June meets that are drive-able for most people in our LMSC: the ENC Long Course Splash on June 9 and the Subway Commonwealth Games of Virginia on June 30.

The 2011-12 Short-Course Yards season ends on June 1, but not before some fast championship meets: Colonies Zone SCY Championship and USMS Spring Nationals. We have 137 members competing in one or both of these meets: wish them luck!
