Championship meets are an excellent way to motivate yourself in training and to interact with people that you don’t normally see. Three SCY championship meets always seem to get plenty of interest from LMSC members.
VMST is looking for sponsors for the 2013 LCM Colonies Zone Championship meet that will be held in Richmond on June 22-23. This will be a premiere event, held at the Collegiate School Aquatics Center, which houses the pool used for the 2008 US Olympic Trials.
Meet information is now available for the annual VMST David Gregg III Memorial meet.
It isn’t too early to start planning for the 2013 USMS Spring National Championship, which will be held in one of the most famous swimming facilities in the country, the Indiana University Natatorium.
In a postal swim, you compete in a pool of your choosing, and send your results in electronically or by mail. No muss, no fuss, no one to race against but the clock.

Recently USMS has awarded bids received for four national championships.
Although September is often a slow time for meets and OW races, there are still quite a few upcoming events that are within our LMSC (or within driving distance).
Most USMS members will not participate in a pool meet or open water race this year, but there are still a number of non-competitive Fitness Events that can help motivate you. The two most prominent are the Check Off Challenge and the Go The Distance events.
