It cost him 20 seconds and the National record. Ann swam in heat 1 (National record for women 60-64) and watched Braswell in heat 2. It looks like she is telling him the devastating news in this photo. He missed Graham Johnson's record by 7.72 seconds. Never the less, he was his usual jolly self afterward.
