Championship meets are an excellent way to motivate yourself in training and to interact with people that you don’t normally see. Three SCY championship meets always seem to get plenty of interest from LMSC members.
Results for the 3000/6000 Postal National Championships have been finalized. There were 19 swimmers from our LMSC who participated in at least one of the postal events, including four stalwarts who did both events.
It isn’t too early to start planning for the 2013 USMS Spring National Championship, which will be held in one of the most famous swimming facilities in the country, the Indiana University Natatorium.
Results are now available for the USMS 1-Mile Open Water Swim National Championship that was held in beautiful Lake Lure, NC on Aug 25. This event was part of the larger Lake Lure Olympiad Sport Festival, and about 180 swimmers took part in the championship race.
Recently USMS has awarded bids received for four national championships.
A handful of swimmers are representing our LMSC in some far-flung locations, at the 14th FINA World Masters Championships (Riccione, Italy) and the USMS Summer National Championship (Omaha, NE, at the Olympic Trials pool).
The 2012 USMS Spring National Championship is now underway! You can look at the real-time results to keep tabs on your friends and teammates, but you can also view the action as it happens via live stream.
The 2011-12 Short-Course Yards season ends on June 1, but not before some fast championship meets: Colonies Zone SCY Championship and USMS Spring Nationals. We have 137 members competing in one or both of these meets: wish them luck!
