The Top 10 lists have been posted for the LCM12 season, which ran from 9/1/11 to 8/31/12 so now is a good time to highlight some impressive long course swimming
Results are now available for the USMS 1-Mile Open Water Swim National Championship that was held in beautiful Lake Lure, NC on Aug 25. This event was part of the larger Lake Lure Olympiad Sport Festival, and about 180 swimmers took part in the championship race.
For the second straight year, swimming phenom Shirley Loftus-Charley set two open water national records. This year’s achivement caps 31 consecutive years (and counting!) of competing at Chris Greene Lake.
On July 14, 125 swimmers participated in the 36th Annual Chris Greene Lake open water cable swims, and the results have been uploaded to our website. Director Dave Holland has written a press release describing this year’s race.
Things got a little crazy in March, with four different meets within driving distance of our LMSC.
The names of the All-Americans and All-Stars for 2011 have been released! There were 22 individual All-Americans in our LMSC (6 long-distance, 16 pool) as well as 18 relay All-Americans. Three All-Stars (2 pool, 1 long distance) hail from our LMSC.
The results of the One Hour Postal National Championships are available. There were 37 members who competed, representing 5 clubs in our LMSC.
